Juicy and bright, this is Barbera doing exactly what you want it to do, all tart red fruits, black raspberry, a little plum, and that vivid acidity that keeps everything lifte. It has more generosity than austerity, with soft texture, no intrusive oak, and just enough earthy savoury edge to stop it feeling too glossy. 

Cantina Iuli is Fabrizio Iuli’s estate in Monferrato, and Umberta is very much the welcoming front door to the range, made in slightly larger quantities than the more limited cuvées, but with the same organic, low-intervention approach.
