Mappinga Hill Chardonnay

Fresh, creamy and very well balanced, this is Aussie Chardonnay with plenty of shape but none of the old-school heaviness. Green apple, citrus and white peach lead the way, with a soft creamy texture and a little savoury, bready note from the barrel ageing and malo. There’s enough richness to feel generous, but bright Adelaide Hills acidity keeps the whole thing lively and clean. 

Mappinga Hill is a collaboration between Xavier Goodridge and Les Caves de Pyrène, built around carefully sourced Australian fruit and low-intervention winemaking at a really accessible price. This Chardonnay comes from the Einka vineyard in the Onkaparinga Valley, in the heart of the Adelaide Hills, one of Australia’s cooler, higher-altitude regions and particularly well suited to fresh, elegant Chardonnay.
