Le Pinot Noir

Le Pinot Noir

£24.00 GBP
Silky Provence Pinot with sour cherry, floral lift and fine, crunchy tannins

Silky, lifted and much fresher than you might expect from Provence, this is Pinot Noir with proper elegance. Morello cherry and raspberry lead the way, with floral notes, fine crunchy tannins and bright acidity keeping everything light on its feet. There’s enough structure to feel serious, but the overall mood is supple, juicy and very easy to drink. Think roast chicken, mushrooms, duck, or just a slightly cool glass on its own.

Domaine de la Mongestine sits high in the Haut-Var, around 50km east of Aix-en-Provence, with its vineyards stretched along a large north-facing slope. That cooler exposure and altitude give the wines a freshness that cuts through the Mediterranean warmth. The domaine works organically and biodynamically, fermenting naturally without enzymes or corrective cellar additions, with the aim of keeping fruit and place front and centre.
