Folle Blanche

Folle Blanche

£20.00 GBP
Lemony, salty and razor-fresh, old-vine Folle Blanche with a lovely little leesy prickle.

Lean, salty and properly mouth-watering, this is the kind of white that makes you immediately want oysters. Lemon and green apple lead the way, with a light floral edge, stony minerality and a subtle leesy prickle giving it a little extra texture. Bright acidity keeps everything razor-fresh, but there’s enough flesh through the middle to stop it feeling severe. Cold, coastal and very, very drinkable.

Luneau-Papin is one of the benchmark estates of the Pays Nantais, now run by Pierre-Marie and Marie Luneau. The family has deep roots in the region, with a strong focus on individual vineyard parcels, organic and biodynamic farming, and long, patient élevage to let each site speak clearly. Folle Blanche comes from vines planted in 1974 and is their only Gros Plant cuvée, a brilliant little outlier in a domaine better known for Muscadet.
